Virginia Lottery Board Greenlight Hard Rock’s Bristol Casino Plan

Casino and resort company Hard Rock International and their local partners have been pre-certified by the Virginia Lottery Board to build and operate a casino in the Virginia City of Bristol.

Early this year Hard Rock was chosen to be the preferred operator of the city’s first-ever casino. Nevertheless, the future of the company’s plans to structure a betting complex relies upon the city voters. Only then will decide on the way forward. The Virginia Lottery Board has not played any part when it comes to this issue.

Hard Rock’s pre-certified status is now the latest of the many things to come. The company will need to overcome many hurdles in the next months if it wants to get final approval for their operation. The latest approval will then map away for Bristol to carry out a nationwide referendum on November 3.

This is when voters will be able to air their views on whether the city should fall under the gambling city and be a host for gambling activities.

Even though the Virginia Lottery Board gave permission to Hard Rock for its operation. The latter need to approve a resolution seeking the Circuit Court to order a November casino referendum. On that note, council members are expected to take action on this matter this coming Tuesday.

Virginia Casino Project to Give Bristol New Funding

Giving comments on the approval of their pre-certified application, Hard Rock Bristol team mentioned in a statement that they are really appreciating the work that has been done by the Virginia Lottery Board. Now they are looking forward to the November referendum.

“Have a historic opportunity to vote yes for the thousands of new, good-paying jobs and millions of dollars in additional tax revenue that the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol will bring to the city.”

The statement went on highlighting that the Hard Rock project “will provide Bristol with critically needed new funding for our schools, teachers, and first responders, all while growing the economy both here in the city and all across the region.”

Hard Rock consists of a very good plan that will appease real money casino players in Virginia. This will include a casino that carries up to 2,700 slot machines, 100 table games and a sportsbook.
